Laughter truly is the “best medicine.” Some days this is a really important reminder. So my day began with a crated puppy rolled in smelly poo.
Dawn is apparently the witching hour for puppies so mine is channeling Cujo at 6 am while the downstairs of my home reeks with the smells of a puppy digestive system gone awry. Obviously, we wrestle while the bathing ensues and there’s seriously no need to mention what my clothing looked or smelled like at the end of that particular adventure. The crate gets cleaned, toys are washed, puppy is bathed and it’s almost 8 am without caffeine.
Now I begin an hour and a half new adventure online that should have taken 5 minutes… if only we hadn’t descended somehow into an altered reality where nothing works and communication has been taken over by machines instead of people. Then I realize it’s time to start work and I rush over to love on my puppy and fall in a puddle of urine I never saw … because I was on the phone in an altered reality! And I slipped … and then I realized the sheer and utter absurdity of it all … and I laughed until I cried! And the world tilted back on its axis, the sun shined brightly and I was in such gratitude for all the ridiculous amounts of love in my life.
Laughing releases endorphins in the brain which reduce stress. I also suspect that it is a beautiful reminder to find the Teflon that keeps the shit from sticking to your day! So thought for the day… laugh often and love more!!!! And by the way, everything about my day shifted as I laughed and loved and counted my blessings.
Love and laughter from my grateful heart to yours!
